The Covid-19 Pandemic in Indonesia

On March 2, 2020, for the first time, the government announced two cases of positive Covid-19 patients in Indonesia. However, University of Indonesia (UI) Epidemiologist Pandu Riono said the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus as the cause of Covid-19 had entered Indonesia since early January. It's just that the virus was identified slowly in March, to be precise. The cumulative report data of positive Covid-19 confirmed cases that the government finds every day shows that from March to April graph data has increased significantly, especially in the regions of North Sumatra, Bali, Riau Islands, DKI Jakarta, South Sulawesi, and North Sulawesi.

There are several ways to prevent us from contracting the corona virus, for example washing hands properly, using masks, maintaining endurance, spreading physical distancing, cleaning the house, and carrying out routine disinfection. However, many of us still violate the 3M health protocol (wearing masks, keeping distance, and washing hands with soap).

The community is have to in breaking the chain of transmission of COVID-19 so as not to cause new sources of transmission, especially in public places where there are large crowds of people interacting with each other. The community must be able to adapt during the Covid-19 pandemic with new habits that are healthier, cleaner, and more obedient, which are implemented by all components in the community and empower all existing resources. The role of the community in being able to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19 (risk of contracting and transmitting) must be done by implementing health protocols.

Thus the review that we discussed above shows that there are several ways so we do not contract the coronavirus. This method can prevent and minimize us from exposed the coronavirus. Humans play an one role in breaking the chain of transmission of the coronavirus, the human awareness needs to obey government regulations in overcoming the coronavirus.
